What should apples do at flowering? What should we not do? (Attachment: Method of preparing pollen solution!)
It's time for apples to blossom. Improving fruit setting rate is a top priority. It is necessary to buy apple pollen and carry out artificial pollination.
What should apples do at flowering? What should we not do?
Many orchards are often affected by extensive management, insufficient nutrition of trees, poor pollination, serious pests and diseases, and bad weather conditions, resulting in fruit drop, which affects the fruit setting rate of apples, thus reducing the yield and quality of fruit trees.
Apple is a cross-pollinated fruit tree with low or no self-pollination rate. On the premise of well-equipped pollinating tree, assisting bee-blooming and pollination at flowering stage can obviously improve fruit setting rate, produce decent fruit and improve fruit quality.
"The opening time of a flower is 4-5 days.
The stigma began to wilt 2 days after flowering.
The highest pollination and fruit setting rate was found on the day of flower opening.
Opening pollination for 4 days will not be able to sit still.
Therefore, the preparation of artificial pollination or mechanical spraying, to collect ready pollen, timely pollination.
Artificial pollination should be conducted at the early stage of blooming, and the pollination effect is best when the stigma is fresh on the day of blooming or the next day. The preparation of powder sprayed with pollen and sucrose, boron fertilizer and so on can be solved by spraying and pollinating with sprayer.
The method of preparation of pollen solution is as follows: first, 10 kg water and 500 g Sugar are stirred evenly, then 30 g urea is added to form glycosuria solution, then 10 g borax is added, finally 20 G-25 g pollen is stirred, impurities are filtered out. Spray it immediately after it is ready. When it is ready for use, it should not be placed for more than two hours. This method generally chooses to pollinate at the early stage of blooming, that is, when more than 30% of the flowers open, pollination is the best. It is better to choose 9-10 a.m. with warm, windless or breezy weather in one day. A big tree needs 100-150 g of pollen sap.
In orchards ready for bee pollination, bees should move their hives to orchards before flowering, usually one hive per 3-5 mu orchard. In general, 200-300 bees are released per mu. The hive chamber is placed 4-5 days before the blossom of Apple central flowers, and the peak period of bee emergence is 4-5 days. If there is no water source around the nest box, we can dig a small puddle near the front of the nest box and add water every morning and evening for bees to use. It is forbidden to spray any insecticides during bee release. If necessary, insecticides and fungicides can be sprayed once 7 days before bee release.
Spraying 0.3% borax or 0.3% urea on the leaves before and during flowering can effectively improve fruit setting rate and prevent fruit shrinkage caused by boron deficiency.
Spraying 1000-fold Huafa Kang and 1000-fold Oudiana plus 3000-fold Dalu twice before and after flowering (40% flowers break off red) and after flowering (flowers fade to about 70%) can obviously improve fruit setting rate, prevent frozen rust, improve fruit surface light, promote cell division, enlarge fruit size and correct fruit type.
In this critical period, everyone should take the time to pollinate apples.
